Where are the trial versions of those “arcade” games?? Its been a year..

Trial versions are now up to the developers. The Xbox One doesn’t have games classified as “arcade” anymore and with that change they are not forcing demos anymore. I am also not happy about that. But it also means I’ll save money. There were many games on 360 that I didn’t’ think I’d like but bought after the trial. On X1 I just don’t buy them:)

Demos are also very risky to offer. Its better to have a customer buy something on a risk and go ugh this game sucks then to offer a demo and lose a potential sale.

You have a valid point. But for people like me, it’s just a guaranteed non sale. If’ i’m on the fence about a game, I won’t even consider buying it unless I try it first.

Demos also can lead to reduced sales. With so many demos available, often people can “get enough” of a game just by playing the demo. I believe there’s also an article somewhere where the developer found that not having a demo actually increased sales.

True most developers do not even wanna take the risk of losing out on sales potentially. It used to be that demos were the lifeline and blood to attract buyers (doom would never have caught on as much if not for shareware for example) Still yeah its better to catch customers off guard than to risk flipping them to the other side and not buying it period.

Put yourself in the developers shoes after they invested time and money Yeah its unfair but you can understand why they’d not be keen on demos.

I played this at the ID@Xbox event during PAX. Fun game, but definitely feels like a $5 purchase.

Search for it. For some reason it’s not showing up in the store, but if you do a search, it’s there, and you can buy it.

its there do a search; sometimes takes awhile for stuff to popup in the marketplace.

Also things like dlc/addons seems to get pushed to the end(right side) more it seems, Almost missed the new sniper 3 dlc. A bit easier to miss new dlc.

So why is it the systems get more powerful and the games get more lame? I’m just lost on all these dollar titles hitting the consoles like crazy now. Note to developers: Cell phone users who aren’t gamers might think this is fun, but that’s about it.

Visual Novels? you mean like Telltale Games, they make interactive stories like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us. Not sure what you mean by Visual Novels.

No meant like pure visual novels like haukeon etc. Literally a book style story. Telltale Games are more interactive in moving around talking using objects, qte’s etc. Between pure(?) games and visual novels being a powerpoint presentation TT’s games fall somewhere in between i’d say
