Is the sale price for Rayman legends really 39.99? Or is it just not updated for me

I picked up the two DLCs for Dragon Age II. What are people’s thoughts on Kingdom of Amalur?

Solid combat and character skill trees. The story has an interesting premise, but is a bit hit or miss, front-loaded with a ton of metalanguage and lore. The world is huge, but sometimes feels kinda empty. It’s an above average game with some limiting flaws, and I had a lot of fun with it, running sidequests mostly.

KoA is worth the price. I’ve put over 100 hours in it so far. Really taking my time, LOTS of sidequests (perhaps too many). Armor, robes, weapons, magical jewelry, and loot chests to find (many require a few points in lockpicking or disspelling skill). Not nearly as much loot as in Diablo series, but a decent amount. There are a few houses to own and a “Stash” chest to store your loot. The game is pretty big and fast-traveling is possible. All of the dialogue is spoken and pretty good overall. You can pay in-game gold to a “fateweaver” to redistribute your skill points any time. This way, you can play around with any of your skills. There are 3 main classes (rogue, mage, warrior), and you aren’t restricted by investing in only one class. Mix and match however you like. There are also 9 other skills you can invest in like lockpicking, sagecraft, sneak, blacksmithing, persuasion, and some others. KoA is similar but deeper than the Fable series, if you’re familiar with those games. The level cap is 40. I don’t believe any of the DLC raises the cap. I have the vanilla game.

      TL:DR – Great game!

There’s also a demo, but a video review will give you a better idea of what to expect.

It’s fun to explore and learn about the world with quests and stuff, combat is simple but decent.
The game is also painfully easy and the camera is weird.
I got tired of playing after 2 hours because of that.

In all honesty, Kingdoms of Amalur combat is pretty good but story wise they could have done a whole lot better, whatever you do do not buy the weapons and armor stuff dlcs as they are broken and do not work on xbox 360. The Teeth of Naros and Dead Kel dlcs are pretty good and in my honest opinion they could have done better but the game was a rush thing… more like release or company flops (which it flopped anyways) I have no idea who actually gets money for this game as the company that made this went under… (38 Studios)

At this price, totally worth it! Nice game. Good combat, much better than Skyrim in a poor comparison with a game of the same niche. Vast open world. There is a solid character skill tree and some rpg elements. Artistically it resembles Fable, which is ok for me. BTW, this game is for me what Fable should have been.

Good game only caveat? The camera is too damn close to your character kinda annoying that its so close to your character and cant adjust the camera

don’t do it, koa is just repetitive as heck, the environments are also really bland plus the fetch quest are just repetitive. its like playing fable 2 without the charm or smart npcs or ambience and with no side quest filter or bottleneck like skyrim.

Outlast looks good, but with so many good games dropping soon, I think I’ll save me money.

And anyone considering Dragon Age: Origins – please note it is currently FREE on EA’s Origin service.

It’s sad that you’ve actually tried to play PC games on your console, but props to you for having the balls to share that with everyone. I’m sure it must have been pretty embarrassing for yourself to make such a stupid mistake.

Just in case you haven’t figured it out, you can play PC games on a PC.

However, I should note that your contribution to this thread is extremely helpful – now I know that whenever I see a comment from you, I can simply scroll past because it comes from the mind of a moron.

Metallord is no moron, nor did he say he tried to play pc games on his console, he only stated that he cannot play pc games on his console. Check yourself before you reck yourself.

Actually Axcalibur is right. ImTheMetalLord’s reply was the childish one. Axcalibur just pointed out a special sale for the game, he didn’t bash Xbox nor said the PC version is better. Even Major Nelson sometimes mentions Steam or Amazon sales for PC games. If someone is considering getting DA, maybe it will help them make a better decision.

        Like

      • Professor Oak

His reply was in no way childish. He was simply stating a fact. Some people, like myself and metallord prefer console over PC. This is an Xbox blog, I have started using Unrelated: in front of any post that refers to anything other than xbox so anyone can scroll past if they don’t care. Most of the time, If you play on console, it is because you cannot afford a PC, or are strictly using it for exclusives.

        Like

      • Elan Gabriel

A redundant fact, one that we all know. He could’ve just not reply, but he chose to reply. Give me a break with that “Unrelated”, it’s very much related. It’s not like he’s posting a random sale. So what if it’s an Xbox blog, we can still comment about games that are mentioned him. As far as I know you’re not a moderator, if Major Nelson thinks it’s breaking the rules he can delete it. What harm did it cause you to read it ? ImTheMetalLord’s reply was far worse than Axcalibur’s. It didn’t add anything to the conversation, and wasted my precious time with needless information. This is *not* a blog about trying to run PC games on Xbox hardware, he should have never mention it, not without starting it with “Unrelated”.

Sorry about my last couple comments, was tired and cranky as I was up doing homework till 4 am. Metallord is a highly respected member of this community and I was simply defending his standpoint. You have to admit that Axcalibur made stuff up and simply used it to insult Metallord. Don’t believe me, check out both mine and his sheer number of comments and upvotes. Metallord even has a few followers, myself included.

It’s OK, plus it’s much more important to deal with your homework than this blog:)

To be honest up votes, followers and comment count means nothing to me, I only care about what I read. I admit that calling “moron” to someone here is a bit crossing the line, but Axcalibur’s point was correct and a valid one. We’re all gamers here, and if a game – a specific one that’s being mentioned in the post – has a better deal, I would love to learn about it. Yes, specifically here from people I trust. Personally, I don’t game on my PC so I don’t care about the free alternative, but it was nice to know and it already helped my friend who was short on cash. Metallord’s reply was just weirdly negative, that’s all.

We’re all part of the same gaming community. My comment was meant to save my fellow gamers a few bucks in the instance that they have the ability to game on PC and Xbox 360. Metallords unnessecary comment was a sarcastic attempt to cut me down. He wasnt trying to state a ‘fact’, he was simply acting like a jerk – so I called him out on it.

And you are defending him – so what does that make you?

Do you want to be known as someone who contributes or someone who defends those who insult fellow gamers?

      • Professor Oak

Not sure how he insulted you, nor why you would react the way you did. Metallord and I have been a part of these blogs a lot longer than you have, you can check our # of comments and upvotes against your measly 105 comments/155 upvotes. I have never seen someone take so much offence to 10 words that were not meant to be offensive, and then make up your own interpretation of what was said. Can people not take a joke. This is gaming, he isn’t insulting your family.

To answer your question, yes I am defending him. Look how many more upvotes the metallord and I have on our comments involving this matter and maybe you will check yourself and how out of line you got over the matter. Good day sir

You made a stupid comment, and I called you out on it. My comment made you upset and so you likely flagged it – it was then deleted. You have zero idea how many flags it takes for a post to be deleted. If a mod thought my sarcastic post was overboard – then they’ll delete it. It’s their sandbox, we all just type here. If you were truly hurt by the post, so much that you’re STILL thinking about it – then I am sorry.

Just stop acting like a tough guy and just relax. We’re all gamers here.
