Watch Halo 2’s Cinematics Like You’ve Never Seen Them Before

Back in 2004, we marveled at the stunning cinematics which delivered the biggest story moments of Halo 2. Ten years later, get ready to be blown away all over again. For Halo: The Master Chief Collection, visual effects specialist Blur Studio has rebuilt Halo 2’s cinematics, and they really do need to be seen to be believed. Here’s a preview:

For your first look at the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta and the world premiere of the first episode of Halo: Nightfall, you’ll want to join us for the HaloFest Live broadcast. Join the festivities on Xbox Live, Xbox.com and Twitch, beginning at 8 p.m. PT on Monday, November 10th.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection arrives on November 11th, and is now available for digital pre-order and pre-download here.

      So true! The only thing I remember bugging me about the original Halo 2 cut scenes was the oddly missing sound effects SPOILERS (sort of) eg. Pelican crash when going to earth. It was dead silent (in an awkward way)

        My one memory that sticks with me from Halo 2 was the huge anti climactic ending but when Halo 3 was about to roll out I was so hyped for it because I wanted to see what happened lol.

        Haha man I consider myself super lucky.. this will be my first time ever beating the campaigns of any of the halo games. I just never got into them early on and as a result kind of stayed away besides playing some multiplayer here and there over the years.. I am SO HYPED to play through from start to finish and get the whole master chief story.

        Oh on another note, did you get an alpha code for evolve starting tomorrow? Gonna be sweet !

        As for Halo, I have probably beaten the first game well over 60 times (on Xbox and PC) over the years. I have beaten Halo 2 & 3 many times as well. Halo 4 a couple times, but with so many other games I never got around to playing it more.

        Great games and I love the story, I even read a few of the books (definitely read the first book that explains the full MC story, fantastic read) over the years to help flesh out the story. Great sci fi for sure😀

    I am excited about the new titles and experiences that Xbox is offering. However I find myself a little discontented that so much of what is being offered is some kind of remake. I understand the hype around this title in particular, but the constant re-releases of games has started to spoil some of that hype for me.

        A huge bunch of them are on Ch10 boss and Ch11 as well, I messed up big time on my ammo Ch14 was challenging as well.
        Absolutely loved the game. GOTY for me.

        My most deaths came in chapter 10 but to be honest I think I would have done much better if I had of kept with the game the whole time. Around chapter 9 I stopped playing and beat sleeping dogs, then went back to it to finish. I had to get back into the controls and get the feel for it again, so I died unnecessarily quite a few times heh. But I agree it definitely was a great game. Not sure if I completely understand the story fully, but I think I get the jist.

        Ch10 was basically the boss chapter if I remember, where you face 2 guardians, Laura and Amalgam alpha (I think its called, big thing).
        Ch9 scared the Cr*p out of me when Ruvik showed up, I Remember opening a door to him so I instantly ran away and back to another day, kick it open and he’s right there. It takes a lot to make me sh*t my pants and scream but TEW did it. (less of a scream)

        Oh man where you’re in the mansion right? Every time I saw him I almost died haha started kicking it the opposite direction. That part was creepy as hell. So far I’ve got I think 650 gamerscore out of it.. would really like to get a few more that I missed while playing through. I imagine the second play is nowhere near as scary when you’ve got a rocket launcher and an ak47 lol

        You’d be surprised ammo is super limited still on play through 2 and the RL is balanced because you can’t move and have to so a special crouching animation

    So happy these were redone. The old cutscenes had so much pop-in and unfinished design it was nearly unbearable. Wish the other three games were getting this kind of cutscene treatment.
