XBO deals suck again, surprise surprise.

I might pick up Catherine on 360, I’ve been meaning to try that game. Good deals on Fallout as well

Catherine is a very strange game, and immediately after finishing it, I didn’t completely understand all the hype. But it’s a game that has stayed with me and impresses me more over time. I kind of want to go back and play it again with different choices this time. The puzzle gameplay is simultaneously deep yet simple, and the story and subtext are quite mature. Give it a try!

Just because Microsoft doesn’t believe in giving away the farm in hopes you will like them doesn’t mean the games they offer are not good games. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the games offered don’t see a bump in sales after they’re put on sale or given away. Many people, me being one of them, wouldn’t try some of these games if they weren’t discounted.

I hope they have something real good up available to both Silver and Gold members later on, with how Black Friday is coming up and all. Since I’m only only just Silver, it’s been kinda killer how Microsoft has been recently limiting a good majority of deals to just those with Gold.

Actually Gold Members have been complaining about how many deals are available to everyone and how paying for the membership isn’t giving us the better deals. Lots of publisher sales over the last few months available for all members….you might have been missing out on them. (talking about the 360 here and not the One) Never seen deals for everyone on the One.

People always complain no matter how GOOD or bad something is lol. I love how people site that ps+ is better, but go to their blog site and it’s constant complaining how bad the deals are over there lol. I don’t think most people are capable of being content or happy these days.

Like you said, the major deals are only for gold (since we are paying members, why should it be any different?) so Rakaiju needs to pay up or miss out😀

It’s safe to assume that you will be better off searching for deals on amazon for example, or even your local e-shops. with little patience you can get even better prices. for example recently MS has put 50% discount on Titanfall (XO), few days later amazon announced discount on PC version – selling Titanfall for $10 (!!!) and XO for some $10 cheaper than the 50% discount from MS.

If anybody is considering purchasing EA Sports UFC, I’d advise against it.

EA have been surprisingly great about patching it and giving away free DLC fighters but unfortunately their constant tweaking and patching has broken the game.

The patches have made fighting the A.I. in career mode absolutely unbearable and the online multiplayer which WAS great, is unfortunately now a completely broken mess where 95% of the roster is worthless and the community exploits every single little issue with the game to the point you will tear your hair out.

Literally every fight you have, your opponent will pick one of the 5 viable fighters with 75″+ reach and hold block, back up continually waiting to parry you and then throw a series of 4 hooks to your body, pause and then throw another 4 at your head, which you will be unable to block. If you try to hit them with anything other than basic straights, hooks or leg kicks, you will get instantly knocked out.

It has gone from an excellent online game to a frustrating, unplayable mess. 50% off is a good deal but the game is awful now, unfortunately.

If the subject appeals to you, of course, Pool Nation is very well done in its kind. One of its qualities is that it easily teaches the techniques for a casual player like myself, making it a pleasant (and real) learning, while being a calm and graphically fine and colorful pool game. Of course, it changes drastically from shooting aliens (unless we imagine to hit tiny rounded ones with a stick😉.

In some ways New Vegas is better than 3. You should not pass on it at this price since you like 3.

      Like

    • Dave Breadner

New Vegas can seem like a bit of a disappointment to those whom have only played 3 because it doesn’t have the same near post-apocalyptic

atmosphere that was prevalent in Washington.

      1) Adam Adamowicz was an amazing artist. F Cancer.
      2) New Vegas is a follow-up to the West Coast story of the original Fallouts, by many of the people who worked on the first couple (more FO2 than FO1) of them. It’s just over 200 years after the bombs dropped and society has been rebuilding itself for quite some time. Also, the game will tell you why Vegas wasn’t hit too hard. The Lonesome Road DLC might fill some of that need if you have it.
      3) The Karma system is broken. At least it’s worthless. Everything depends on your faction ratings with the different groups. (Personally I hate how 3 does it, especially with the Talons constantly coming at you for no good reason. Eventually you should be able to kill all of them and/or the Regulators off.)
      4) Perks come once every 2 level gains instead of 1. With Fallout 1 & 2, it was once every 3 levels. This is basically a compromise. It makes getting a perk seem a bit more special and to slow you down from being overpowered. They brought back Traits when you create a character. They offer you an advantage, but they also come with a disadvantage to offset it. The purpose behind Logan’s Loophole (from Old World Blues DLC) is to allow people to not get too overpowered through the extra 5 levels one can gain through the 4 story DLCs. The Chem boost that comes with it is basically supposed to be trivial.
      5) Don’t go north of Goodsprings. Thar be Deathclaws, Cazadores and Giant Radscorpions up there. On the other hand, when I played it unpatched when it first came out, I did kill a giant radscorpion on lv 1. I used all my ammo, and heals and got to lv 2 as a result, but the poison still ended up getting to me. Victor didn’t even help me on that one. There’s an art to playing it unpatched. Fortunately, you shouldn’t have to worry about that.
      6) The Dead Money DLC is very different from the rest of the game. It relies more on stealth than anything. There are lots of hazard zones. Speaker waves can kill you so you are constantly destroying radios and loud speakers. You have to dismember an enemy in some way to kill it. The only way to take out a holographic guard is to disable the source which may be hard to find if at all.

Generally speaking, those that played the originals like New Vegas more than those whom didn’t. If you don’t care for the old isometric RPGs and you have a few hours, watch a Lets Play of the originals (Specifically 1 & 2. Tactics is optional as it is only partially canon.) You’ll get more out of it if you do. I think I’ve played through New Vegas 5 times and I still find new stuff in it like an unmarked cave.

What can I say? There are very few video games out there that have blown my mind so much that I had to rush out and buy it right away even if it meant buying a new computer or console so I could play it. Fallout 1 was one of those games after I helped a friend install it on his computer and watched that opening cinematic and got to the character creation screen.
