Set on the unforgiving world of Pandora after the events seen in Borderlands 2, this is a story full of Borderlands’ trademark humor, following two adventurers on their quest for greatness. You’ll play as Rhys, a Hyperion ‘suit’ with dreams of being the next Handsome Jack, and Fiona, a Pandoran con artist looking to score her biggest ever swindle. Thrown together as unwilling partners in an adventure to recover cash they both think is theirs, their journey will take you on a wild ride where gangsters, bandit lords, and Vault Hunters are just some of the obstacles you’ll encounter, in this new take on the award-winning universe created by Gearbox Software.

Maybe the beard of the Bearded Canuck is interfering with the eyes and not able to read where it states: “Now Available”.

Or maybe the Bearded Canuck spends time taking part in recreational activities with Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles? Therefore the brain is fried.

But moral of the story — READ the article before running off at the mouth and insulting people.

Preferably yes you will need to play BL2, this will get you used to the humour, setting and characters. It’s on sale right now I think.

You don’t need to be familiar with the series, but obviously a game that takes place after the events of the first 2 would be netter understood if you’d played those first. Also, it spoils the story a bit.

I didn’t know anything about Wolf Among Us beforehand and you could enjoy Telltale game nevertheless. How does the story in this game compare to that one? Can I enjoy still enjoy it or is it all just inside jokes and inside knowledge? Are the characters new or already established ones? I’m not planning to play any previous Borderlands, I owned the second Borderlands and didn’t like the gameplay at all and traded that in gamestore after 15 minutes of gameplay.

Main characters are new. Of course there are returning characters. You’ll be wondering who a couple people are. I assume they’ll explain in future episodes, though. Its mostly about the new people, so not many inside jokes. I expect that to change as more episodes come with more returning characters and story threads. Story is ok thus far. Not quite as interesting as Wolf Among Us or Walking Dead’s first episodes.

Well i pretty much read fables 1-139 and some of the crossover comics before i started Wolf among us and i have got to say ; there are so many background references in Wolf among us that you will really appreciate if you read the Fables comics. i would say initial knowledge of Fables makes the wolf among us feel a whole lot much bigger and cannon to the series.

Yes. Like the best movie sequels, they can work standalone but knowing the history adds to the overall experience! So more kudos for Telltale then I guess.

Dust it off, BL2 isn’t a game you should miss especially at the price it is now.
Story wise its nothing special but unique in other aspects.

2.53 gigabytes for episode 1? what is up with current gen and their heavy space requirements. i bet the 360 version will be about 700mb and still look the same.

    Like

    • Toni Kuhalampi

But remember it’s 1080p and 60 fps on current gen..😉 Just kidding though. I think the space requirement is larger because all the data is uncompressed, while it may look the same; a lot of the new games game also has uncompressed HD audio which takes a lot of additional space too. Unless you have a HD sound system, you won’t notice any difference in that area. Maybe the texture files are also slightly larger too..other than those two, who knows what’s the difference.

yeah but is it fair to increase the cost for customers in the long run. i mean there is reason why most people who download tv shows online would rather download 174mb instead of 700mb for a 22 minutes TV episode. if xbone requires disc installation and uncompressed digitals they should at least provide a 2tb hdd.

      • Toni Kuhalampi

That is also true but the same goes for the other side of the grass too (Sony). So in the end, it’s the game developers who are responsible. Then again there are purists that want the sound to be crystal clear (very rare people even have good enough sound system to justify non-optional HD audio install).

        Like

    • Bobo Tapia

Sharper graphics and less compressed audio takes up more space.

      Like

      • cortez

yeah but that is just irresponsively pushing cost to customers because they end up running out space to install games while microsoft keeps closing their systems and limiting the use of cheaper external hdd.

      • Toni Kuhalampi

What is the external HDD limit right now, btw? Is it two externals? I have internal disk full and one 500gb external about halfway full…and not even that big of a game library.

      • cortez

Current gen or microsoft to be specific seems to have this inconsiderate motto of not putting customers first judging from their original policies like always online, always on kinect, disc activation code and their still current mandatory disc installs in small internal hdd while also including no back-comp and offering remastering of last gen for a quick nostalgia payday like Halo collection and soon to be released limbo. i really wish i was into PC gaming instead sometimes.

Pc gaming has bigger size too lol and all the update will eat your hard drive space.

yeah but PC has a by far more open system that allows and provides room for a work-around.

2 external 3tb drives can be connected to the xbox one. Everyone can thank Blu-ray for the size of games. since they could fit 25-50 gig on each disk, they stopped programming efficiently and started abusing that by not compressing any of the data like they had to on dvd-9 discs – I’m guessing as they get more familiar with things we might see this in the future but right now, developers are just plain lazy.

I actually have a 2TB portable drive connected and I’m only about 25% full with 20 games on it.

There is actually no limit on the size of an external HDD that you can attach to the Xbox One. There is only minimum limits set. It has to be USB 3.0 and has to be at least 256GB large. AND you can have up to 3 of them attached at once. So buy as many cheap external (or make them) HDD with as big as you can afford and use them. In fact they are actually faster than your internal HDD.

you know the funny thing is that i am actually considering doing that but every now and again a trailer is released that ignite a burning vigor down to my balls like the witcher 3 trailers and the Batman Arkham knight gameplayer trailer released 2 days ago and then i think of other future games like cyberpunk that makes my nuts explode burning…”anticipation”. tough luck aint it.

Now its on 11 Percent and keeps going to installation has stopped. All other games and xbox live seem to be working fine. I have 110gb left (No problems there) Right now, as it stands. I have a game that i have paid good money for i cannot play!?

It’s like The Wolf Among Us but in the Borderlands universe. You play as 2 new characters and there is some interaction with previous characters from the BL universe. If you like TWDG or TWAU you will enjoy this take on Borderlands. I will say that the story is better. It’s weird playing a BL themed game that’s truly story driven.
