Was just browsing the store earlier tonight and noticed it and picked it up! I don’t know when I’ll play this since I already played it on 360, but I loved it on 360 and I’m really excited to play it again.

Count again as you are WAY off, there are at least 13 retail games that are available on the One but not the 360 with many more on the way.

Also, it’s not like Microsoft can force developers to only develop for xbox one now. If developers think they will make more money from releasing a game on both consoles they will do it. If Mike wants to write a big check to them to get a contract to develop exclusively for new gen then good for him.

wow the future of the indusry is really bleak when the only 3rd party companies truly support the current gen are Activision, EA and Ubsoft while everybody else are saving costs by remastering two years old games.

Hmm, I’m really starting to think Nintendo had the right idea with the WiiU. Make a cheaper system that can put out just as good games graphically and are more fun, all while cutting costs and waiting for this “transitional” generation of systems.

I’m really getting discouraged with the games that are out, remakes, and seeing the system not showing its “awesomeness” that we were promised. So far, only Destiny has really impressed me graphically. I did a side by side of Diablo III for the 360 and the One, and the One has slightly better detail, that’s about it.

I’m waiting to be blown away, and shown why this system is so awesome. I’m not dogging on the XBox, I’m just stating how I’m feeling about it. I do enjoy the system, but now I’m really starting to question if it’s going to have any longevity, or if it will indeed end up being a “transitional” system as we wait for the next great thing.

Oh, I’ve been buying systems since Pong, I’m no stranger to the way it works. But it’s not that “something better is coming” is the problem. It’s that the leap that we were promised really hasn’t been shown. Instead of amazing games, we’re given remakes or games that are released that don’t take advantage of what we were told the system could do.

I’m just a little worried that by the time we really see what can be squeezed out of the system, it’ll be time for a new round.

Yah I hear ya. Generally you won’t see the big games that take full advantage until a few years in or more. With that said, you are right though, it’s been over a year with only a very few solid games ONLY made for this gen.

I don’t understand why you people are giving up? It took about 3 years to get the last gen going. 2008 was the first big year for those systems and the 360 came out in 2005. It’s only been a lil over a year and just in 2015 alone there will be MGS5, Batman MKX, BF Hardline and The Witcher! Not to mention the dozen other games coming this fall.

Bioshock came out in 2006 for the 360 and remains one of the greatest games of the generation. Other great games released in the first year for the 360 include Condemned, Dead Rising, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Saints Row, Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Lost Planet, Crackdown, etc. As much as I am enjoying my One, we haven’t seen anything nearly as many good/revolutionary games this generation.

So many people are disappointed in this generation. I must really be in the minority cause I love the XB1. I think it is fantastic. I love the new Kinect, the voice commands, BluRay, the Apps, and I think their game library is off to a great start so far. Killer Instinct, Sunset Overdrive, Forza, Dead Rising and Ryse – all great games to me!

So many people seem to be really hung up on graphics. Expecting this generation to push out earth shattering leaps never seen before. I don’t think people realize that the graphical jumps from previous generations were more noticeable because going from hundreds or thousands of triangles/polygons to millions was a massive visual jump easily seen by the human eye. Going from millions to hundreds of millions isn’t. The human eye can only perceive so much detail.

I know I am speaking arbitrarily. I don’t want to get into a spec war here. But think about the jump from VHS to DVD. It was a huge leap that our eyes could easily see. The jump from DVD to Bluray? Not so much.

Is this generation giving us more remakes and indie titles than previous generations? Sure. But 360 ushered in the era of Arcade titles and it was a great concept that worked. I am actually really happy that I have nearly 60 games to play on my XB1. It sure beats having only a few games to play for an entire year which is the way I felt about PS2 and PS3 when they came out.

Noticed that I said generation? That applies to the PS4 as well.

I’m sorry, but Xbox One still has a very good chance of becomming a lot greater, but they have until next year to prove it, otherwise they better have an upscaled Xbox Two as a backup plan and ready for release.
I’ve seen those demonstrations where DirectX 12 can improve the Xbox One’s performance by about a 100% in certain scenarios here at the office and about 20-30% in general, but if developers are going to stick with what they know because the competitor allows for it with the same results, then MS is in trouble.

That’s the whole point though the PS3 HD remakes were worthwhile you were getting a significant HD upgrade from SD and it really showed. Whereas now most have been marginally better 720p to 1080p.

Instead of “remastering” all the 360 games to one, cant we just have them working on one directly. I dont see the point. Releasing a next gen console but not releasing enough next gen games to go with it, whats the point.

This is Capcom remastering their game in this case. Halo MCC was in honor of Halo 2s Anniversary. Plus, it is a lot easier to pump out a remake, which can take as little as 6 months (more or less), than to make a new game, which could take years to develop.

You do realize by the time they officially announce a game it has already been in development for at least a year. Halo 5 has been in the works since at least 2 years since the game was teased before the Xbox One was released. Destiny was at least in the thought process back when ODST was being developed. They can’t just push out a new game from nowhere, give it time. The remakes are there to help tide gamers over till the next release.

I get what you’re saying but in the now it sure seems like we got pumped up for a moderate upgrade from the last console generation.

Original xbox had Halo come out of nowhere for the uninitiated to flock to, 360 had Gears of War and Halo 3 after 2 years. Xbox One doesn’t have that and a gaming machine needs a game that’s new and fun to run or it’s just an overpriced pc-lite. Times up, enough tiding over.

Also, being an early adopter rarely has rewards, I am waiting to get an Xbox One when Halo 5 comes out, which is now about 2 years after the console released. That is generally a good waiting period to get a console after launch.

Why make new games when millions of people will buy a simple remake?
Spend 50 millions for a new AAA game that take 2-3 years and might not sell.
Spend 0.5million for a remaster that take 6 months and will sell at least a million.

I don’t mind the remastering of games, as long as the games are good and worth remastering. I would like to see MS take into account previous purchases though.

For example, with the State of Decay there was mention of an upgrade price for those that had purchased it for 360. Should be easy for MS to filter purchase history and give certain people an upgrade price on games like DmC remake.

I’ve read anywhere from 0% to 5% boost (MS says 0%) from DX12. This is the first post I’ve seen claiming that high.

      Either way, it can’t hurt.

Hate to rain on your parade, but that was not what was said. They said 20% boost was seen for PC games (Fable Legends particularly) and never made mention of the One. We will probably see an increase, but not likely that high – though we can hope.

It applies to the One as well IF the game used DirectX 11. Many multiplatform games currently on the Xbox One aren’t written specifically for it and still use DirectX 11.

There is no doubt there will be an improvement for games coded with it, but just don’t go expecting a massive, magical increase in performance as there is only so much an API can do. It will not have any affect on games already released either.
