I know this has been announced for a while, and I know it’s a fantastic game, but I’m getting really tired of last generation re-releases. In 2015 alone so far we have seen Saints Row IV, DMC: Devil May Cry, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, and this. It’s just getting a little out of hand.

At least Saints Row IV had a new release to go with the remaster

That is true, though it’s really nothing more than a glorified expansion, but at least it was more than just an HD upgrade.

I assuming it’s not actually the remaster’s that are bothering you, but really the lack of true next-gen games. I love these remaster packages, but the lack of true, original, and functional next-gen releases is concerning. I’m ready to see what these ‘new’ consoles are capable of.

Oh yeah, and I agree, Dark Souls II is a great game (maybe not quite the masterpiece that the original Dark Souls was), and is worth a look for those who somehow missed it.

Or maybe it’s the fact that they are getting us to rebuy a bunch of games they should have made backward compatible, or at the very least given much better deals on them when our prior purchases are clear.

The problem I have with these reissues is not the reissue itself, (I like these packages because you get the complete version of the game with all the DLC and updates, added features with technical improvements, and sometimes multiple games at a fair price) but the fact that the biggest fans of the games get screwed the most.
The Borderlands Prequel is the worst. They said there was no plans for a next-gen release, then only to release it less than 5 months later with all the DLC and another for full game for $60, while fans who bought The Prequel for the 360 in October with the season pass paid $90 just for one game. That’s how you kill a brand.

While I do agree with you. I am super excited about this remake. I am probably going to get the Borderlands remake (just for the 4 player couch CO-OP). After that Just give me a Gears of war Trilogy remake and Mass Effect Trilogy remake. All the other ones I could careless about

Unrelated, I just bought a copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order for Xbox 360 since it was on clearance at target for $15. It is 4 discs and requires and 8GB install. That is crazy for an Xbox 360 game.

Yeah, but did they have 4 discs? I know GTA 5 didn’t have 4 discs

Nah, Lost Odyssey did. Maybe FF13?

Multi disc I have usually only seen on huge single player games.

Rage had 3 discs that if you didn’t install them it would have lower texture counts and not run as well. And I think that total install was near 20 GB, though you could install them one at a time for just the section of the game you were on (i.e – install disc one for the first half of the game and install disc 2 when you got to it in the second half of the game).

I will never pay full price for an Xbox game again. Purchased ZAT this weekend only to see it discounted this week. I get it, but can’t help to feel a little angry. Every game from here out will be a deeply discounted purchase.

I’m not even ashamed to say that the difficulty on these games is to high for me

This is actually one of the few games I’d consider replaying from the last generation.
Didn’t buy the DLC because they didn’t add achievements, but I’ll rebuy this and get to those DLC quests at some point.
Thought it was going to cheaper at launch though, so I’ll wait on a sale because I still have the original.

This was such an ugly game on the last consoles and it doesn’t look any better on the new ones. Graphics don’t normally bother me that much but this game just looks plain ugly and it puts me off playing it. I know strange.

However Styx is one of my favourite Xbox One games before everyone starts bashing my opinion about graphics blah blah. I know Lords of the Fallen isn’t considered to be in the same league as the souls titles but at least it looks good.

I tried playing through Dark Souls and the combination of the poor graphics, inconsistent frame rate and mediocre art design just ruined it for me. The gameplay was ok just not strong enough to overide the negatives for me.

Hence why I am disappointed that this release seems to have done very little to the look of the game.
