It’s too violent for Australia, it will be banned.

Hahaha, with their prison colony history that statement is ironic.

I was watching their Australian border patrol tv program and they didn’t allow a guy into the country because he had a drug charge for weed on his criminal record from two years ago. He didn’t have no drugs on him or gave any clue he was going into Australia for drugs.

Irony at it’s finest there, not allowing someone into their country due to a criminal record lol.

Australia is no more a Prison colony than the yanks.

Keep in mind that some people got sent to Australia for stealing a loaf of bread.
Keep in mind that there were multiple settlements along Australia (This CONTINENT is a huge place!) that had nothing to do with the prison colonies.

Inform and educate yourself before blaming xbox.. Prices are effected by the taxes your government sets.. Your lucky u dont live in Brasil as they pay so much more… A release of a game has to pass your countries classifications board.. Class dismissed.

Yet Brasil is the only country to sell this game the cheapest, along with many other games. Just saying.

No. Taxes have nothing to do with it in Australia.

Normally when the dollar increases in value and taxes stay at a constant, prices should then drop when you are purchasing goods and services overseas as your dollar has more buying power.

Now when Australia’s dollar increased by 40% compared to the Yanks, the prices of games stayed the same, they didn’t decrease, everything else dropped in price from Televisions, Cars, Clothing etc’.
But not video games, publishers laughed all the way to the bank.

Did you know that you could jump on a plane, fly to the USA, pick up a copy of Creative Suite Master 6 Collection and fly back to Australia and STILL save HUNDREDS of dollars?

The Australian government then did an inquiry into the situation and pretty much every publisher/software maker said the same thing.
They charge the maximum the market will handle, Australia has the highest minimum wage and one of the highest average wages on the planet, so companies feel they are capable of charging more for the same thing.

Then you have Digital vs Retail, companies set digital prices to reflect retail, apparently competition between the two are not allowed to exist, there have been some pretty hilarious examples like Civilization which doubled in price overnight in order to match the retail price on Steam, even though retailers generally don’t stock PC games anyway.

In the end the billion dollar companies like Microsoft (Who are also guilty of a similar thing to Adobe) Sony, Nintendo, EA, Activision etc’ are just being a business and charging a set price on what people are willing to pay, that’s capitalism through and through.

But don’t think for a Minuit it’s because of Taxes, the tax rate in Australia isn’t THAT severe.

What a fitting title, it fits perfectly with the outlook of next-gen gaming along with “State of Decay.”

I love this generation of gaming and believe the outlook for the future is good, but I could not agree with you more, this gen has been a nightmare ever since they announced it two years ago. There were so many things that were or are not in place, all the sketchy broken game launches, underwhelming hardware, and very few truly next gen titles. As I said before, I do think the future looks great, but what a rough start.

On topic: This game looks fun, the price is right, and it looks like Geometry Wars, which I love.

Why has DOA5LR been re-released at a higher price today but with 10+ less DLCs!?
I was planning on buying it this morning, but now it’s no longer worth it.
