No thanks the Xbox One version will be a PS4 port which means it gonna be inferior just like any other 3rd party game now.

Hey guess what, the PC version will smoke the PS4 version with much higher resolutions, textures, filters and probably more stable framerates. Laughing hard at the Sony fans that are fighting over which system is the least inferior, like poor people fighting over a garbage can. Fake gamer wannabees.

I have a 360 not a PS4 and it is gonna be inferior since they are using DDR5 and not DDR3 if Xbox One used the same it would be identical.

        Like

      • TheHeraldOfDeath

HAHAHA, DDR5? You know that doesn’t exist (yet) right? It’s GDDR5, a graphics specific derivative of DDR3 and at a mediocre clock rate too. HILARIOUS that people are still throwing that one around. The use of DDR3 isn’t the thing that’s hindering parity on the Xbox One.

I fail to see where I was arguing anything lol (and why I am wrong according to you). I was only laughing at the RAM comment because yes, it has VERY little to do with anything. And yes, I know it’s the GPU as well. Been in the business for 25 years:)

Not yet it is. The first reason why we’re seeing games at 900p on the Xbox One is the 32MB eSRAM. It’s not enough for a full deferred rendered 1080p framebuffer will AA. It’s should have been 40-48MBs, that would have been enough for 1080p (the latter with AA). The second part is developer laziness and budget/time constraints where developers choose not to divide that data over both the eSRAM and DDR3. It’s simply too time consuming (and thus costly) to optimize specifically for this setup and will cause poorer image quality when done wrong.
The best thing to do is go with the dynamic 1080p, where at least the y axis always has the 1080 lines limiting the artifacts to the x axis, but the point here is that engines need to be written with that in mind as well.
MS’ best bet is too just frequently release new consoles with better and compatible hardware to keep up with the times, the Xbox One and PS4 are plain low end in the PC world now and with DX12 coming that means that performance gap will increase even more.

      • Brian Eyekon Koehler

That is my point they won’t take the time to learn the hardware to make it work and will just port over the PS4 it was the same with PS3 and Xbox 360.

        Like

      • TheHeraldOfDeath

It’ll be PC port which is now the main platform for most multiplatform games, but yes, in the end it comes down to not wanting to optimize for the Xbox One and that is a big thorn in MS’ side that they need to correct.

      • Brian Eyekon Koehler

Not only that but they lost their exclusivity deal for DLC since Treyarch was using PS4s to show off the MP for the first time when in the past they always used Xbox.

        Like

      • TheHeraldOfDeath

Yeah, but that doesn’t say much, it could have just been a build that was more stable at this point since according to them they’re developping and optimizing for each platform independently (which I really want to believe but don’t).

      • Brian Eyekon Koehler

True it wouldnt be smart on their part since Xbox also is one of the main sponsors for MLG which could mean COD would be dropped and Halo 5 would take its place.

I wasn’t very hopeful for the next COD. Worried it would be more like Ghosts or MW3, which I was disappointed by. However, the teaser and trailer have both accomplished the stoking of hype, for me. I hope we return to normal ground troops and maps without all the Titanfall movement mechanics soon, but I’m down for one more iteration on the mech-suit idea — and this one from Treyarch.

The question is will this be the first CoD in 4 years that isn’t average or below average? Hasn’t been a “good” CoD since Black Ops 1. Maybe bringing back a Beta will make the games as good as they used to be like I’ve been saying for years.

    Weak sauce .
Playstation get the licence to print money that is StarWars Battlefront preorder/adverstising rights ( count me in – my money is down already ).
    MS counteract with copy/paste Halo/Titanfall wannabe COD : Whatever/who cares .

I was hoping that MS would do the same early preorder with Batman , but I think PS have the advertising rights to that too .

    • Nick Peck

So, whoever wins advertising rights is a clear cut winner for ya huh? Honestly, I could care less who adverts what lol.

      • Ross Kemp

No just like you I could care less , I simply have credit in my MS account that needs to be spent by June 1 2015 ( the cut off point from old MSP currency ) .
I was hoping MS would carry some big AAA titles for me to use the credit on – instead I had to use money from my PSN wallet as they have the more attractive titles .

They’re both still selling you games you could easily go buy in the store the day they’re out. The number of preorders isn’t really substantial when compared to overall game sales.

Were you seriously impressed with Battlefront’s cutscene trailer? I don’t know what the end result will be, but I always suspect the worst when the first look at a game is basically CG. Same goes for Batman.

Without this beta I would have had no intention of buying the game due to the mess of AW and the fact this looks like Destiny / Titanfall and AW put together. At least with the beta I can say at least I tried it before I bash it. Unless of course I end up liking it.
