Agreed, but this one doesn’t have to do with that fact. It’s a bit of a skew when this exact game is free (albeit ad supported) on another platform. I know the devs have to pay for cert, but MS should start looking at this now that they allow easy porting of Android games.

What you expect? If MS were to allow the game to ad ads they would get MORE bad press and we all know MS doesn’t need anymore bad press especially leading up to E3 …
everybody went all out over the lil ads that were on xboxlive market place what do you think would happen if they allowed a game to use ads just so it could be free ?besides i don’t even think it works like that anyway …

It’s a dilemma indeed for these mobile ports. But I’d rather MS lower the certification prices for the developers and thus allow lower prices for these games in the end.

Android is free with IAP, iOS is 3.99 and also has IAP. This has been updated with better graphics, more levels, and full controller support.
You do realize that it isn’t just cert right? Updating a game to a different medium isn’t free. They deserve to get paid for their work. 12 bucks for a game that has at least 15 hours is a better deal than some of the AAA games that are charged $60

You are appropriately named since you obviously don’t know what a Season Pass is for and automatically assume it’s bad. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a Season Pass as it gives people the opportunity to by a good chunk of DLC at a discount – well at least most times as the new Batman game seems to be an exception as there is no discount (thus no real advantage). Many times the Season Pass will also include early access to the content. Also you don’t even need to buy it before all the DLC is released, you can wait for all of it to be out and still get the discount – or wait for a sale on it and get an even better deal.

Complain all you want about DLC itself, but whining about a Season Pass is rather silly. A Season Pass is only a bundle discount, so you are complaining about saving money? Durp indeed!

All you have to do is look at the number of the retail. downloadable only, and indie games available on the Xbox One marketplace and it is easy to tell one of three things about him.
1) he is a liar
2) he really likes dancing and yearly sports games from multiple developers
3) both.

Let me tell you how much that 25,355 gamerscore will impress. LOL! Even counting nickle games like Threes and Jet Car Stunts, the xbox website only shows you active on 68 Xbox One games. Of that 68, 7 are GwG or free-to-play, and 5 are from EA Access (only 15 “retail” titles). On the Xbox 360 the xbox website lists 98 games, of which 21 were free-to-play or GwG. With all of the extremely low achievement counts per game it is not hard to surmise that you use rental services like redbox and play through the first few levels and return the games before finishing them. Out of all of the 176 games for the Xbox One and 360 that are listed there are only 21 games that you broke the 30% achievement mark, and 12 of those were EA Access, GwG or free-to-play. Yeah… better luck next time.

Too many people banging on you for not finishing games, but from what you say about family and possessions. I would guess you work hard, have familial obligations and you have a limited amount of time to game. Respect to you for buying games and supporting the devs. I also have a family, work hard, and love to game and wish I had more time for gaming. I also like you, buy a lot of games and I don’t cry about the prices either. A lot of work by a lot of people (look at the end game credits) and they have families and need to get paid. Too many people want to pay little or nothing for something of value.

I just like buying the games because i can and it’s supporting the people who create the games i enjoy , regardless if i play them or not i just enjoy buying them .
I do work hard and spend alot of time with the kids and the wife so im left with very little time to be a hardcore achivement hunter gamer lol so i just stick with casual gaming because that all the time i have

I agree with your assesment for the most part. But the horrible part is how correct you are in that the midrange is being almost completely abandoned. I always found myself enjoying those titles over the often over-hyped AAAs.

I think that is probably due to pricing in many cases, as many were asking AAA pricing for something where they may have seen much more success pricing their games in the $30-$50 range when released. This is probably the fault of the publishers in many cases. Self publishing this generation may help this issue to an extent as we have seen a much wider range of game prices than before, but many of those developers also overpriced their game on launch as well (Flockers?). But the big publishers need to realize not every game needs to be priced at $60 when released – a lower price point may yield more sales overall and sustain that price for a longer period of time, leading to more profit. This was probably one of the factors that led to THQ’s demise (along with the other missteps like expanding uDraw to PS3 & 360) as most of their franchises could have been considered mid-range.
