New Rise of the Tomb Raider trailer and Box Art Revealed

An all-new trailer for “Rise of the Tomb Raider” debuted this morning, offering a glimpse of Lara Croft’s drive and motivation as she embarks on a new adventure throughout the most treacherous and remote regions of the world and embraces her destiny as the Tomb Raider. The trailer showcases the spirit of adventure and discovery that drives Lara in this next chapter of her journey, launching exclusively on Xbox in 2015.

In addition to the debut of the trailer, Xbox and Crystal Dynamics revealed the box art for “Rise of the Tomb Raider.” Featuring Lara Croft holding a flare at the edge of an ancient secret tomb, the artwork draws on the sense of adventure, exploration and discovery that fans have come to expect from the legendary franchise.

    Trailer looks good, but i hope there are unlockable costumes (classic TR skin etc) and less shooting people. More of lara against her environment.

      It’s going to be much more stealth based it seems. You can now swim, climb buildings, etc to stay out of sight. There is also now a weather and day/night cycle that Lara and the AI respond to making certain creatures appear at certain times. Finally, more puzzles are supposed to be available and more integrated into the plot.

      Microsoft just need to come out with their definition of what exclusive means to them.

      Should just do it as console exclusive and exclusive, so console is obviously only on Microsoft consoles and exclusive is console and PC.

        It’s not a MS problem. The whole industry does it. Still love how people are getting hung up on TR being a timed exclusive, but still no crying about Street Fighter being a Sony exclusive.

        Not to mention the time WAY back when SONY bought exclusive rights to the Tomb Raider franchise for several years starting with Tomb Raider II in order to keep it off Sega consoles. Or the fact SONY refuses to confirm that No Man’s Sky is just a timed exclusive when the developer has all but said it.

        I’ve seen a good amount of people moaning about Street Fighter being exclusive to Sony, not the same amount as Tomb Raider but that’s because Tomb Raider is way more popular and maybe the fact that Street Fighter is just a fighting game without a story and the rebooted franchise of Tomb Raider was on almost every device before being stolen to be made on only one console.

        Meh Streetfighter sucks bigtime since IV , if it was fast 2d sprites like HD remix i would have been really pissed, couldnt care less, looks as lame as IV with its clunky slow 2.5d

        HD sprites are to costly and time consuming to make these days, its a shame

        Recent videos I’ve seen from Sony say either exclusive or console exclusive.

        For example for Uncharted 4 they say exclusive and No mans sky say console exclusive.

        Yet no mention of “timed exclusive” for No Man’s Sky, which is exactly what it is. SONY will NEVER tell you it is a timed exclusive, instead do their best to convince you it will remain exclusive to their systems up until the NDA and exclusivity is up for the title.

        Microsoft at least has the balls to tell you that it actually is a timed exclusive.

      You do realize that they just announced complete exclusivity last week – it will not appear on Playstation 4. It is no longer a timed exclusive. It is exclusive exclusive (though I imagine there will be a MS published PC release).

        Well I understand you read that as I did too but I also read shortlly afterwards that the statement was corrected and it was back to a timed exclusive. If you have a Definitive link that they said it is NOT coming to the ps4 then I would like to read that as #1 I don’t give a rats about the PS4 and would love nothing more than this to be an XB1 EXCLUSIVE but I do not think that is the case,

        I just wish everyone would quit playing on the words and state it as it is – a timed exclusive for the XB1 (and possibly p.c at the same time) for 2015 – it’s not that hard.

        Re: $10 increase. No news sites reported – but when I went to preorder Black Ops 3 (digital) & Star Wars Battlefront (EB Games), both had their ‘standard’ editions at $79. That’s a $10 increase. (Keep in mind, this is Canada retail). I’ve reached out on Twitter for clarifications on prices, but no response.

    Looking forward to play it on my Xbox 360. I hope Nixxes is doing a great job. Of course, it can’t look as good as on the One, but the reboot from 2013 looked amazing on PS3&360 as well.

        I think the developers were boasting about using even more dots on her face for the motion capture compared to the last game. 90 to 7000 this time around. Now you will see her moaning and not just hear it.

    Oh that’s what they meant by Tomb Raider Box Art…

    I was very surprised how much i enjoyed Tomb Raider. I was very disappointed they went ‘reboot’ route, but it turned out nicely. I cant say this will be a day 1 purchase (especially since MS is jacking up new releases another $10 this fall), but i’ll get it when it goes cheaper.
