Evolve part 2. So how much will the full game end up costing gamers to fully own this game, £100? DLCs, Season passes and pre-orders. Shame really as the developers used to be worth putting money down on their games.

I would definitely purchase this game for a base $100 if it included all of the promised season pass content on release, since I know the developer, Rocksteady, has put a ton of effort into making the game and expect the base game to be worth more than the $60. My problem is with the publisher expecting customers to pay an additional $40 for promised content that is probably already made and not worth the additional cost.

Is there something stopping you from waiting 6-8 months for the GOTY/Full edition, which will have all of the DLCs and even lower price ? See previous Arkham games, they turned out to get nice re-releases after a while, like most other games.

The only thing stopping me would be the need to want to play the game and having to wait nearly 8 months to do so. I like to play every game I’m interested in as soon as possible.

Like with most games I just won’t buy the overpriced DLC which is never worth it.

Well, to put it mathematically that need will cost you about $45. Like most things in life, if you think it’s worth the asking price – go for it 🙂

Hence why I said “you can now play at 12:01EST”. I’m on the East Coast as well, and hated that rule, but am happy they seem to have updated it.

What game are you actually playing?

It’s a very childish way to look at the world. It’s not about being able to afford, it’s about how much the product is worth. Even if I can afford paying $100 for a big mac, that doesn’t mean I will actually do it.

      • Elan Gabriel

No you can’t, but you can decide if their asking price is worth it or not and deliver the message.

P.S. – Also, it’s not entirely true, while bidding you DO put a pricetag on someone else’s work, be it a famous painting at sotheby’s or a used phone from eBay.

        Like

If you’re bidding on a game then it’s not you putting a price on a mans work its you putting a price on the owner of that said game because that money goes to whoever is the owner of the game and not the developers buddy…..stop the silly stuff man

        Like

      • Elan Gabriel

It’s not silly stuff. It’s different ways to think value. You will pay any price for something that you want while I won’t pay above what I think the product is worth. You can see my Disqus profile picture, I love Batman, but I still don’t think that video game is worth more than $40 (or any video game for that matter). As I would love to give these $40 to the developer rather than a random eBay seller, I will wait until it’ll get a price cut.

So many games this generation are simply not ready when released I have lost count how many games that I have pre ordered this year alone that were released in a poor state.

The Witcher 3 was the last game that I will ever pre order how many weeks did that take to become playable? Yet there are still more fixes to come.

I will wait for all the patches and fixes from now on and maybe even a price drop.

And by the way these digital prices are ridiculous even with my 10% discount.

What about Witcher 3 wasn’t playable? It had some minor issues, but nothing gamebreaking. It’s hard, if not impossible, to develop a modern AAA game in three years and not have some issues.

Very interested in this game. Just don’t like getting the premium edition without knowing the details of what the season pass will exactly include. I’m just throwing this out there….if you want to sell a more expensive version of a game that’s cool….but tell the consumer what they get for the extra money. I think I’ll go with the regular edition of the game and pick and choose which dlc if any down the road that I want. That’s if it its offered separately. Probably will be though.

Arkham Asylum was excellent. This should be too. Very excited for the Batmobile!

It does seem really strange that it’s six months of content rather than something more specific. I don’t think their plan is to rip anyone off, but that seems to be the only reason why anyone would word it this vaguly. They’re asking for money while dodging commiting to delivering which seems really strange for a totally reputable studio. Unless maybe they want to include the pre-order bonuses from various stores a few months down the track in the Season Pass, but the exclusivity agreements with the stores prevent them from advertising that before a certain date. Seems pretty unlikely.

It says on the page that you “Should not purchase this DLC if you preordered, or bought the season pass”, aka it definitely sounds like the Harley pack is also in the season pass anyway. Hence why I am wondering if the Red Hood DLC is as well.

Well from x360 time I always think, man I have sooooo many games with dust and if new game released almost never impossible buy game in day one.
Than when u finally game, overprice of coz + delivery, than u must always change cd if u wanna play different games….and also I like moving around the world, so I always bring x1 (if I live outside of my original country I just buy new x1, so i dont need anymore bring with me lol).
So if u can see u also must bring games with u, and what games i wanna play never now right?) So digital I preferred, only one disadvantage for me its internet speed…but positive side much more: preorder, play day one, not overpriced, always anywhere in the world(if u have internet lol), saves also anywhere.
And btw I have on x1 around ~50 games since console released (of coz some indie free game include (i never even started once)), and all this games, ALL digital! I dont have even ONE in boxart/box…and im happy for this
