For audio and video, my 360 outputs to a whole-house switching and distribution system (I can basically use it in any room in the house — or in theory, even the garage or back patio although I don’t know if the controller signal would reach). I don’t use Kinect, it wasn’t really that interesting to us, but I thought I read somewhere that a third-party made some sort of wireless adapter (but since I wasn’t interested in the Kinect in the first place, I can’t say I’ve paid much attention to such things).

I have the same sort of setup at my office with another 360.

I’d really like Xbox Ones to replace my 360s but this is a fairly major impediment for me and quite a few other people I know.

Well Microsoft needs to make an awesome game on it. Then people will be swayed.But due to the ps4 being cheaper i doubt It will have any effect.

And ppl with kinects allready annoy ppl in multiplayer lobbys enough…. mandatory kinect is 1 of the main reasons im not getting an xbox one, cant stand allways hearing echos in multiplayer games due to ppl useing kinect as a mic.

True. Kinect 1.0 used as a mic is not very good. Good thing they are packing in a cool new headset. The navigation and media control option are sick though.

Doesnt matter if their packing in a headset, u know perfectly well theres gonna be more echo lobbys with the xbox 1 due to it being forced on ppl. Ppl are paying for it so their gonna use it. True, if kinect wasnt forced on ppl the system would probably be only about $50 to $100 less but point is ppl are paying for it so their gonna use i regardless of how crappy it is, willing to put money on that with the whole xbox on and xbox off thing it will turn off the system when ur talking to ppl and either dont say xbox off or ur telling a friend “this is how you turn off your xbox easily”. Voice recognition technology sucks, plain and simple. What some1 else said about touch screens…. no1 liked them till they worked properly, now that they do ppl like them. Same will go for kinect, once the echos gone and theres 0 issues all together then they willbe tolerable…. maybe even liked.

apart from the fact this is kinect 2 you havent used and you dont know whether it has echo or not all conjecture.

why would ppl use kinect if they got headsets? and they have done numerous tests so im sure if you did use just kinect i wouldnt be echoing but il wait till its out and test it for my self

Reminds me of the Cell processor, Its more powerful Sony said so devs will push to make better games using it, what happened was far from that why bother when we can make games that run on both systems no point spend extra time on PS3 games. I see that happening on Kinect, well PS4 hasn’t got kinect so dont bother adding any feature no point spending time and money on one systems features when we have a game we can sell right now on both

I’m talking about exclusives and first party devs primarily. Cross platform titles are a different animal, but as long as they innovate and get creative with using Kinect 2.0 all devs can market that innovation as a selling point!

lets see if you will be saying that in 2years time!, remember its alot easyer for devs to work there magic bcoz of the X86 so dev times will come down so they can use that time they had to push more things its going to be very good for next gen and cant wait !

You are absolutely right, kinect will feature heavily in games, and that’s why i won’t be buying an xbox one. If by cool implementation you mean stuff like using your controller as a shield or pushing zombies away in Dead Rising 3 then I question my understanding of the word “cool”

exactly. i want all game systems to do well so they can get better and better. i just want good games. i don’t care about one system being better than another. the Last of Us was so good so me so i am just glad to have both systems. i don’t care about wiiU though. i have like 10 marios games that i wore out. i love mario but the games are not as fun now.

same here. i am a gaming nut. i am a fanboy of everything except the vita. i am not going to buy a bunch of expensive memory to play games. that thing is a money-pit. its cool but no thanks. i wish MS would have come out with a handheld. there was a rumor one time.

Yes me 2, I enjoy all kinds of gaming systems, but nobody here is getting removed for saying he likes the Vita, which I think is dead beyond saving BTW and definitely not the future of gaming.
He got removed for spamming and making hate comments in the other topic.
MS won’t come out with a handheld because that market is shrinking fast and possibly dead after this gen. The 3DS is doing well, but still selling a lot less than its predecessor.
I’ve heard rumors MS will support controllers attached to more tablet devices in the future though, so that could replace handheld for them.

I would say Xbox one s also a money pit @.@, the play and charge kit and other features are the same at the memory card issue on vita. I love my vita as I play a lot of Japanese games like clannad and Disgaea, cant wait for the vita version of Disgaea 4 and phantasy star online, but there is also a tone of 3ds going out soon.

i can see where it would have value to some. i just have way too many games on my backlog as it is that it is not worth my money or time right now. maybe in the future when they come out with a newer model of the vita.

I hope it turns out that way too. I own 3 Xbox 360s (was planning on getting the same amount of Xbox Ones in time) and I hope Major Nelson can give answers to our questions soon. The maximum of 5 like on the PC would be perfect.

It would be great if Major Nelson could do an AMA (Ask Me Anything) type of thing here on his blog, even if just for once. There are many vaguely answered questions surrounding the Xbox One that many would love to know.
But I think Major Nelson is not answering you or many of us, not because he doesn’t want to, but more because he is being left in the dark as much as we are surrounding all the policies.

Yeah I 100% agree with you. And for now, I for one wants him to introduce us to the new dashboard now that he has unboxed Xbox One for us. Kinda curious and excited about the new dashboard🙂
