Before I start to listen, you put Battlefield 2 in the title instead of what I believe should be BF3.

Can’t wait to listen to the show *clicks play*

Hello all! Quick question for you about the update: Why was Netflix Party Mode removed in this update? I really liked that feature.

It seems it was removed, i can’t find it.  I wonder why they did that…

If you check IGN, Microsoft issued a statement regarding that. I’d post the direct link but I always seem to get a message saying that my comment needs to be reviewed whenever I post anything resembling a link on here (for understandable reasons).

Be careful with electrical shocks! It’s the current (amps) that kills you, not the charge (voltage) nor its frequency (Hz). E.g. static electricity can be many thousands of Volts, yet very low ampèrage.
In medicine we usually state that an ampèrage between 15 to 20 milliamps is able to stop a person’s heart if the current runs through it.
So the low voltage will not kill you but a person’s body resistence can vary greatly (so the amount of current can also vary greatly) and the point of contact where the electrical shock goes through can determine the outcome.

Over 5 years since the 360 launched, stacks of minor and major updates, hundreds of games launched and Microsoft STILL cannot work out a way to allow me to change my country of residence from IRL to UK😦  I know that this imposition derives from content licensing restrictions but I am left in the situation were I’ve no choice but to keep accessing content that, due to my changed location, MS should NOT be allowing me to use.  This stupid restriction ENSURES that MS break their agreement with content providers.

Freedom of movement in the EU doesn’t exist in the world of XBL!

Thanks for the podcast. I have two comments.

Cloud storage is great but the failure rate has to be just about zero. Losing a save can be devastating. I lost my Forza 4 progress because I got an error when doing a move with the cloud. (Luckily I hadn’t progressed very far. I recommend always copying when using the cloud.) Did you test different connection speeds. Mine is 1.5 Mbps.

Secondly, I’ve noticed new notifications even if I don’t have any beacons set. I sometimes get notifications when someone else starts playing the game I’m already playing. There doesn’t seem to be a way to opt-out of other peoples beacon notifications (without opting out of all notifications). (I don’t really have a problem with that but that may contribute to other people’s complaints.)

This podcast is getting me through the boring task of tagging images. The funny part is I was tagging a paris cityscape image with the Eifel tower at the very moment you guys discussed it from BF3!

Hardly anyone I know has a PS3 and the two who do rarely plug it in. Youtube isn’t important enough to lose multiplayer with my friends. I’ll stick with Plan B.

The sad thing is, with this new “updated” dashboard, my desire to look at the new stuff has dropped down to about 0 due to the crappy interface it has.  PLEASE MS, give us an option to go back to the previous dashboard, this one is HORRID.  I have over 200 arcade titles and all it can do is scroll me through them 5 at a time?  And why are the XBox 360 games on demand lumped in with them?  And why is it sooooo confusing?  I hate this update and it litterally makes me angry using it.  Counterintuitive and frustrating is all I can say about it.  I HATE IT.

I have to say, I am very disappointed in the system update.   I have to say, it seems like a portal strategy to try to keep you in the dashboard longer so they can serve ads to you and sell you stuff.
I think I am like most people – 90% of the time I turn on my xbox, I want to see who is on and what they are playing, so I can jump into a game with my friends quickly.   If nobody is on, then I might watch a movie or play something solo, but social gaming is the main reason I have the xbox.   I have more than 3 friends and I completely hate the fact that I can’t just flip up to a list of everybody who is playing and what they are playing.  Indeed, that ought to be on the home screen.  Instead it is buried in a sub-menu that initially only shows the first 3 people in your friends list.

This looks to me like it was designed by a big committee of people, without any real common vision, who were all about trying to extract as much money from the user base as possible, rather than having any real interest in the customer experience or how people use the device today.  It’s clunky and cluttered and basically horrible.

To be honest, I dislike this new interface enough that I am going to seriously think about Sony in the next generation.   You guys have taken probably the best UI experience inside MS today and just wrecked it.   Until the new interface came out, I figured I was probably 95% sure I’d by the next Xbox, not any more.  Sorry to be so harsh, but you can’t fix it unless you know what is wrong.
