Phil Spencer and I chat about Xbox One S

It was a big day and technically E3 2016 hasn’t even officially started. Read more about what we have in store for the rest of E3 here.

It’s that time of the year again: E3 is just a few weeks away! That means now is the perfect time to start sharing some of our plans for one of the gaming industry’s biggest annual events.

Today, we’re announcing the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing will take place Monday, June 13, beginning at 9:30 a.m. PDT. During the briefing, you’ll have a chance to check out everything from in-depth looks at previously-announced games to trailers for our unannounced titles coming in 2016 and beyond. You can watch the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing live beginning at 9:30 a.m. PDT on June 13 on Xbox.com, the Xbox Twitch Channel, via the Xbox Live Events Player on Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles, or on the big screen at your local Microsoft store. You can also watch the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing on Spike TV in the U.S. and Canada at 9:30 a.m. PDT / 12:30 p.m. EDT.

For more Xbox news at E3, we’re also happy to share that we’ll be bringing back Xbox Daily: LIVE @ E3, our live news show that covers all things Xbox at E3 – from breaking news and exclusive announcements to trailer reveals and interviews with game creators. I will be hosting the one-hour show with Graeme Boyd, Xbox Live’s Acey Bongos, and will include a variety of guest stars and prominent industry figures. Xbox Daily: LIVE @ E3 will air on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. PDT, and can be streamed live on Xbox One, on Xbox.com (both on your desktop and on mobile), on Xbox 360, and on the Xbox Twitch Channel.  Each show will also have interactive experiences created just for fans watching live on Xbox One.

This year, Xbox is partnering with Twitch to bring gaming fans wall-to-wall coverage of the entire week of E3. Go behind the scenes, catch the latest announcements, and watch the best Xbox games in real-time. You’ll be able to watch everything on the Xbox Twitch channel from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. PDT on Tuesday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, June 15, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. PDT on Thursday, June 16.

Finally, if you’re in LA during E3 week, we’ve got something even bigger for you. Once again, Xbox will be giving 500 lucky fans a ticket for exclusive access to Xbox FanFest: E3 2016. The Xbox FanFest: E3 2016 is from Monday, June 13, through Wednesday, June 15. Tickets will include:

  • Entry into the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing on Monday, June 13th, 9:30 a.m. PDT at the Galen Center
  • Access to a special Forza Motorsport event at the Petersen Automotive Museum on Monday afternoon, June 13th.
  • A can’t-miss “Fan Celebration” event on Tuesday evening, June 14th, at the Premiere House at Regal L.A. LIVE: A Barco Innovation Center.
  • A custom-built backpack filled with gaming swag
  • Play time with all-new exclusives and our biggest blockbuster games coming this holiday
  • The chance to meet some of the industry’s top developers, leaders and influencers.
  • Even more surprise events during the week.

Today, we’re happy to share some new details on just how you can go about taking part. First, as with previous Xbox FanFests you’ll need to be over the age of 21 and have an Xbox Live gamertag. Next, you’ll need to get a ticket. Fans can line up at the Microsoft store at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles starting on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 p.m. PDT. Credentials will be distributed to the first 500 fans in line, then FanFest tickets will be distributed to credential holders the following morning, Sunday, June 12 at 11:00 a.m. PDT. The Microsoft store is located at 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA. Lining up will take place near the Food Court, located on level 2. Be sure to hit the official Xbox FanFest: E3 2016 page for complete details and an FAQ.

We’re also excited to share information on more of what you’ll receive if you’re one of those 500 lucky fans. In addition to already announced goodies like entry into the Xbox E3 2016 Briefing and a custom-built backpack full of gaming swag, FanFest attendees will be invited to a special Forza Motorsport event at the Petersen Automotive Museum on the afternoon of Monday, June 13 and a can’t-miss “Fan Celebration” event on the evening of Tuesday, June 14 at the Premiere House at Regal LA Live.

Of course, we’ve still got plenty of awesome E3 experiences for those fans that can’t make it to Los Angeles for FanFest. Xbox Daily: LIVE @ E3, our live news show that covers all things Xbox at E3, will air on Tuesday, June 14 and Wednesday, June 15 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. PDT, and can be streamed live on Xbox One, on Xbox.com (both on your desktop and on mobile), on Xbox 360, and on the Xbox Twitch Channel. Today, we’re excited to reveal that Jessica Chobot and Julia Hardy will be joining Graeme Boyd (Xbox Live’s Acey Bongos) and I as hosts of the show.

You’ll also be able to catch an Xbox Briefing Post-Show Special with Geoff Keighley and other surprise guests on the YouTube Live @ E3 show. The dedicated 30-minute Xbox show kicks off Monday, June 13 at 4 p.m. PDT and will break down and dive deeper into some of the hottest news coming out of our briefing.
